Keeping posure

This week was solid. Made some gains in poker. And it seems as though we are going to move forward with the show.

I turned the $310 I started with into $5,000 this week, which is great. And I cashed in on the first attempt. So it's all good.

I played some Hold'em, PLO, and sit n gos to build the roll. In 9,612 hands of cash games... I lost $700 playing No Limit, in less than 1,000 hands. And made over $4,000 playing Omaha in 8,000 hands. Averaging about 10 BB/ 100 hands at PLO, which is definitely sustainable if not beatable.

I learned some lessons this week.

#1 Rolls cannot be created at .50/1 and below on stars because of rake edge. It is practically impossible. Rake at .50/1 is 80% of that at 1/2. That is absurd. It should be like 55%. Given the lack of rake edge, regular players lock down their games and become unbeatable after rake. Lesson: .50/1 and below is worthless.

#3 Rebuilding a bankroll is emotional havoc. It requires discipline and a stress free environment.

I now have a roll to do this. All I need to do is make 50 buyins at 1/2 and only 25 at 2/4 and I am set to play some SCOOPs. Hopefully I make more than that this week.

I have turned my entire game into Pot Limit Omaha. Whether it's heads up or 6 max, I can crush it all. I have been using tableratings.com and color coding all the bad players. Hold'em cash games are in the history books for me. PLO is my game and I am stickin to it.

When I don't feel like playing, I open up all the 1/2 tables running and I just sit and color code. It takes a lot of time, but if I am bored, it's kind of fun. It makes game selecting soooo simple. I can look at a table now and know within 1 second, without even opening it, whether it's good or not.

There are a lot more losing regulars at 1/2 PLO than one would assume. And tons and tons and tons of horrible players. Probably 50%, minus the fact that regulars play more tables.

I have played a little 2/4 as well, and still, same thing. Losing players all over the place.

My goal for this week is to make $10,000. I can do it. I got 7 full days. I am also only 50 hours of play away from supernova. Which is worth $3000 to me. So my goal is to get supernova by noon sunday. And make $10,000 as well. So I will profit a full $13,000 this week.

Today I have already played 4 hours. And I am going to marathon. Short break. Then play til about 2am.
